It seems that no matter the economy, gambling will excel. I think $23 billion was bet on the Super Bowl with $22 billion illegally bet upon.

You're right. Eating contests are GROSS! But shindigs, now that's a whole 'nother idea. And you are welcome to my share of the oysters - but it would be fun to sip and nibble where there's merriment.

Eek! I hate watching eating contests, but I suppose in those days it would have been a big success. Interesting for its time, I bet.🌺🌺
