Some things just don't last. certainly some marriages don't last and sometimes a spouse dies young. That  really hurts.

Love the imagery. And the wistfulness.  Last night on our PBS channel they played the old movie "Four Weddings and a Funeral," set in London I think. The image of veils and candles and wistfulness of your poem bring the film to mind, but your work is much more thought-provoking.

Good morning

As I approach another anniversary with John, I find this poem to be sad. I pray that I never have to deal with this type of issue. Eye-rolling smile
