It could be as simple as an update that needs to be applied or a loose wire.

Good Evening
Sherri, last week my speakers didn't work on my computer and I tried everything I could think of. I finally gave up and thought about taking it to the geek squad. Yesterday I thought I would try my speakers again and they worked. I have no idea what was going on. I'm glad they work now. I hope you had a nice dinner with the kids.
