So sad about the job loss. Your weather sounds lovely there, not too hot. You take care.

Do employers really care about their employees any more I wonder? Seema to me that is a lot of money to owe and I wonder what will happen to employees insurances and medical care etc.

Good afternoon
Job loss without warning is really hard. It happened to John several years ago when he worked for a local barge company that decided to fold up in our area. Luckily, the long-term employees received a severance package that held us over until he was hired at the steel mill. I'm not sure about his area, but our area has help wanted signs everywhere. I hope that your friend finds gainful employment quick.

It is a sad job for people losing their livelihood. Things change so quickly, and older people will have a job perhaps to find suitable employment. Nothing seems to last as it did once, I suppose one just has to make the best of it. I am glad that you like the Bible study, anything constructive is good for the mind.

I'm laughing about you wanting to do something this weekend for fun. Actually, I'm laughing at me. Since I have been in my eighties, I pray for a weekend of freedom from someone wanting me to go out to have fun. I hate turning down people who want to entertain me but, peace and quiet and doing my own thing is much more enticing. Isn't that awful.

That is a shame about your friend losing his job. Here is to hoping he ends up back on his feet quickly.

I'm sorry to learn about the troubles of the Yellow freight company and
the loss of so many jobs. It's going to create major problems for everyone who buys things in big box stores.
