Ah the throne in the bathroom. Whenever I was on the throne or taking a shower my boys knew I was stuck there for a bit and they almost always visited me to talk something over, tell me whatever was a concern. I used to feel violated until I realized this was important for them and I stopped fuming and just accepted my lot.

Good afternoon
My 96-year-old aunt Edith once told me that so long as you have a purpose, you have a reason to get up and be productive every day. She was not a fan of sitting around and waiting for death to arrive. She lived to be 98, and her husband Charles lived to be 101.

Re: Winding down is a relative term. When one is in the middle of raising
I'll never forget my four little boys sitting outside the bathroom door waiting for me to come out, and I was sitting in there reading the newest "Readers' Digest" that had come in the mail.

Winding down is a relative term. When one is in the middle of raising
children, and also has a paid 40-hour-a-week job, the idea of sitting for half an hour is only in the imagination. There were times when mom couldn't get 5 minutes alone in the bathroom... Seems like the good old days now, but I remember being so busy all weekend that Monday morning brought the first coffee break and a chance just sit for a minute. The old familiar songs are even sweeter now.
