I can remember when my boyfriend would drive all over town to get the cheapest gas during gas wars. I can remember a few times of 25 cents a gal.

There was a time, back in the 60s and 70s, where various gas stations
had price wars - one would drop their price by 2 cents, and then another would take it down 3 cents... Price per gallon then was around $1.25 or $1.30 if I remember correctly.
