Wiley

thank you for the questions.  I wont be answering them in the order you asked but I'll try to answer them all:

We have the Order in Canada too.  For their address, see http://www.aug.org (this is the website of the Order).  Our Canadian brothers are really the monastic type.  I've met just one of them personally, and man, I'd tell you they are hardcore monks.
Donations are welcome; but we receive them in the spirit of "fraternal exchange", i.e. first we get to know you, you become part of our life (by just becoming a member of a parish, for example, or the school's PTA), and from within the context of this new relationship, we would receive your "donation."  Out of that context, I don't know whether donations are accepted.
Oh yes, poverty, chastity and obedience are THE religious vows.  One cannot be a religious without them.  These are the poverty, chastity and obedience of Christ himself that every religious wants to follow.  The meaning of each of the vows is known to all; religious congregations would differ in the way they "protect" the vows as lived by their members.

I hope I answered your questions.

Friar,

thank you for posting this.

I am interested in that schedule and other areas of the monastic life.

Do all Friars adhere to poverty, chastity and obedience? When a person enters or is accepted by the order, does that person give up all worldly possessions to the order??

In a comment  to one of my own blogs, I mentioned that I would like to contribute  financially, in a small way, to the order. Will I find an address somewhere here on your site?? Is there a special way for me to do that? Can the order negotiate a Canadian cheque?

Thank you, and I appreciate you and your help with the computer.
