Sassy:  Exactly! While they're below a certain age, the parents and guardians are responsible to make sure they don't see and hear things that will fuck them up later on. Not enough parents take that charge responsibly anymore. Just my opinion.

Thanks
I have been debating this, but I believe that you are correct. It sounds hard enough for adults to handle, let alone kids.

Sassy, this is my opinion. A subject matter like this coupled with the violence and brutality could cause children to have not only emotional problems later on but also spiritual issues, not to mention some really awful nightmares for the next few weeks. It's wrong to do this to a child.

Shouldn't the truth be known by children also?
I would think that an older child could handle it since they have heard about it most of their lives. Small children aren't to good in theaters at any movie that's not G rated anyway.

Passion, I won't let my 14 year old
daughter go see it and some parents think I am nuts. But that's OK, I follow my own belief system, be dammed with everyone else. I can't imagine parents of younger children allowing them to see this movie. I will see it in time, but I have to be in the right mental framework...........

I saw it last night and depsite the brutality it is one of the most powerful movies I have ever seen. PLEASE do not take children. It deserves the "R" rating.

If you go, go with somebody who will tell you when to close your eyes. That's what I do, but honestly, some things are just better not seen.

Thanks for the warning
If its really that graphic, I'm not sure that I could handle it. I blubber at stuff like that, and especially when I know its true.

It really freaked me out that some lady died while watching the movie (see my Hometown News blog if you haven't heard).  It does make me wonder exactly how graphic is it?

I liked your comment. Yes, some parents ARE complete idiots.

Yes, I know what you mean...
I went to see Freddy Vs Jason and couldn't enjoy it... for the fact of three kids all under the age of ten sitting next to me.   The really scary thing is it didn't seem to faze them - made me wonder what else they had seen. Some parents are complete idiots.
