I think this is so true!  I've never understood people that have everything and then the bottom falls out from under them and their families are destroyed right along with them.

I've never lived in one big enough and nice enough to keep a maid or two.  When my Mom first graduated from high school and came to Kansas City she began working for a rich family.  She was the "upstairs maid".  There was also a downstairs maid, a cook, and a chauffeur.
