Pat, I'm not surprised you are not with this man and that the marriage ended. I think the comments were so uncalled for and it just goes to show what kind of people they were.

I was brought up by church-going believers. I married one. We brought up four sons in church. I definitely am a baptized beliver in the God of the Bible and his love for sinners...but...I also learned that it is a message of love and that the way to that love is not one of condemning people for the clothes they wear, the food they eat, and the company they keep...actually not condemning them for anything. That is the Holy Spirits right and duty, if He thinks it is necessary. I'd much rather share His love.

Good morning
I can't even beging to imagine how men behaved towards women back in the 1950s, but even then that was some seriously unmannerly behavior, both from your husband and his buddy. Something like that isn't easy to forget.
