The last year before graduation to become an RN in worked in a hospice...need of money because the work really was too heavy for someone as tiny as I was then.

I learned so much, I loved too much, I broke my heart too often...but it helped me toughen up for hospital ward work.

So sad. Here's to hoping for peace in the final days.

Good morning

Hospice is both scary and a blessing. I am so sorry that your sister's friend is going through this.

I've had some experience with those angels who work hospice,

and they are dedicated to making the experience one of peace and even joy for those in transition and those left behind. I'm sorry for your loss.

Hospice was a Godsend for me

I had hospice with Richard for a year and a half 2008-2009. The VA provided me with a psychological counselor during that time and for 13 months after Richard transitioned to cover the grief process. When I did in home highn risk teaching . I always showed my clients The Five Wishes. It lets them name who would speak formtheir health needs is thbey can't. It covers under what circumstances you would not want resusitation ie coma. cancer.severe dementia. It goes over how you want to be cared for with clean clothes, baths, massages
