Thankful too that your Covid is behind you - was sorry to read you were so

sick. You are right in that family can be a great help in those times. Mine are the same. I enjoy the cooking too, but you were wise ordering this year seeing that you were still recovering. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a good idea for me next year too. It seems I needed longer to rest up and de-stress after this year's cooking marathon! Fur babies all good, and bird stil mouthy.

Being totally lazy now and then is a good thing, TAPS.

And forgetting what one was going to say happens to me on a regular basis!

I did, Kabu. I haven't been out of the house since Xmas Eve,

I extended my alone time, even when I should have been out and about, and have to be careful that it doesn't grow on me too much. Hahaha - as if my family would allow that! But they did respect my wishes this time, and it was exactly what I needed!

Working from home is the best for me, CCT.

I don't mind a vacation in warm places, but much prefer our cooler climate for permanent living.

Re: Good afternoon

Very true, Sherri. I very much enjoy my non-human family members.

Re: Here's hoping we can all get back to gatherings and get-togethers

Pat - the new strain of Covid is doing its rounds in this area again. Even my Little Flea has been in contact with it, so her whole family is obliged to test before coming to visit here. Karen's family have it while she is therre, so not really certain when she will return. Fortunately I was in the mood for solitude so, other than hoping no-one got too sick with it, I was fine beng alone with my animals.

Good Afternoon

Happy New Year!  I wondered how you've been doing.  During the weeks that I had COVID, I lost track of what everyone was doing.  I'm finally doing much better and I'm thankful for that.  I never knew anything could make me that sick.  I had my vaccines but I still got a very bad case and I think being that sick changes you in some ways.  I was quite fortunate to have my family take care of me.  The first week my grandson packed up and came to take care of me and stay with me.  I will be forever grateful for that.  My daughter and Roy helped me with whatever I needed and my sons called me every day.  I hope that you are remaining well and that you enjoyed your family at Christmas.  We had a nice Christmas but I ordered everything online because I didn't have the strength to go out and shop and I didn't want anyone to get what I had.  I always cook but I ended up ordering Christmas dinner from Bob Evans.  It was a first for me but the food was very good.  I was sick for exactly 6 weeks and it was way too long.  I hope that your fur babies are doing good and your whole family.

The older I get.... I can't even think of what I had in mind to say here.  Today I have had no one around either and have been totally lazy...then the storm set in and messed up my WiFi ....but things seem back to normal now.

Well it is always nice to here from you. I do hope this New Year will be a bit easier to

live with.It does seem the trend to work from home, I know two folk who are going

to spend three months in Spain as it does not matter where one is working from.

I did wonder though if it might be more tiring in a warm climate. Take care, I don't

like slippery roads any longer.

Good afternoon

Happy New Year. I personally am a fan of quiet living conditions. The beasts and the birds accentuate the the living conditions by bringing positivity to the scene.

Here's hoping we can all get back to gatherings and get-togethers

as we did BC (Before Covid) and be there for in-person hugs and encouragement. It's been a tough two years, last year seemed worse to me because of the personal blows from outrageous fortune - and I know your family would have been much happier if they'd been able to spend more time with you - especially this past weekend. Keep on truckin', as the saying goes. We'll have reason to smile again one fine day.

Here's to hoping that with the New Year, things calm down.
