LOL... thanks, Pat. The old house is now down on the ground, and its old tin roof has now been taken off and stored to be used as our new storage shed to be built soon.
The old tree will be much easier than it seems because we are using "snatch lines" that are longer than the tree is tall. The tree might be 40' tall, but we are using 60' cables. We specifically waited to get the extra-long cable to avoid one of us getting hurt.

I am sorry you had to write this particular story, but so thankful that
you could. There should be therapeutic value in getting all the old angst off your mind, in setting things right. From your description of all the hard work and yard cleanup, your home is getting more homey every day. I know you work carefully and won't take any chances on pulling a tree over on yourself, so I won't even mention it. Have a good day.
