Re: "Completely announced visitors" whom you told not to stop by

Sleep... make sure you are getting enough! LOL.

Yes... UNannounced!

I would have not had a problem had they called me at any point of the nearly twenty hours it took them to get here. I wouldn't have been happy, but nowhere near as upset as I was when they just knock on the door and expect to be treated to coffee and cake.

We have made tremendous strides in the place and it is almost normal looking, BUT it is still a complete mess and a minor disaster area. I don't want people to take away the wrong impression of the place. As I've said before, we literally stole this place for $20,000.

I had a real estate dude stopped by here yesterday to answer a question about where my property line was, and he was shocked at the progress we have made. He told me that the lot alone was easily worth $45,000 simply because of all the work we have put into cleaning it up. You can actually see the ground now and by spring, we will have actual grass growing and not a yard of weeds, glass, junk metal, and broken cement blocks.

We have spent a ton of time doing this, but it is coming around faster by the day now. I have consistently thought it will easily be March or April before we are anywhere near ready for legit "company." I still think that might be optimistic, but things are rapidly improving.

"Completely announced visitors" whom you told not to stop by

or did you mean "unannounced"?  I don't make folks very welcome if they just drop in on a whim. They're likely to catch me in pajamas or slouchy old clothes, hair a mess, dusting not done, and worst of all, no cookies.

I'm afraid that in my old age, my thinking can be described as the chaos theory what with its stochastic differential and Marcov chains since I find hand interpolations necessary, if anything at all.  Mostly I'd just rather stare out the window at the wind blowing the remaining dry leaves away and try to count them as the go.
