Those are are nice places to hang out. I remember a couple of places that were like common areas where we'd hang out. One place we would call the quad.

i think Australian schools are far more structured than over here. Kids have classes all day except for recess and lunch times.I believe they are still encouraged to play outside in fresh air unless it is too hot or raining.

FSI, it sounds like you had a nice school. I think I would want to go outside to the open area to visit with friends but the cafeteria sounds cool too.

Good morning
I don't know where you went to high school, but that's pretty awesome that they served cheese fries. Had my high school of served grub like that I wouldn't have felt the need to go to Taco Bell or the pizza shop every day. The popular place for students to hang out at my high school was the outdoor smoking area, out of the sight of the teachers. I wasn't a smoker back then, so I hung out in the common area with my friends so that we could check out the jocks and the goat ropers.
