I miss them too.

There have always been scammers and BS-ers. We were scammed royally once when were were a young, struggling couple with small children. It's such a sad tale. But my point is that it's not just the elderly or the single woman or any particular person or type. These true scammers, not people in need, are pure dirt and will step on you and laugh while they carry your money or belongings away.

Scammers are everywhere these days, and the amount of them keeps on growing. It's a concern.

It seems to be happening more and more. I'm a sucker for hard luck stories too,but learned (from working in the streets)when to say no.

I said in my blog today how I missed certain people. I could have written a much longer list but some of the names just would not come to mind. Wiley did get more than a $1000 back from that scam. It was sad that he was too far gone into dementia to understand.

Re: CCT

I do not answer the phone anymore unless I recognize the voice.  Sometimes I recognize the voice and still don't answer.  LOL.  My biggest problem is on the computer trying to figure out if something is legit or not.

Re: Good afternoon

That's really awful.  I'm glad she had family to help her, though it must have been hard on all of you involved.

Well if I don't know the phone number I just don't answer the phone. One has to be on the alert though, yes it would be nice to have some of the guys back, but as you know it takes a certain discipline to write to the image that has been created. Whoops! I don't want to crash my scooter whilst following that attractive lady who keeps laughing.

Good afternoon

It is truly a despicable racket. My mother-in-law fell for a scam a few years ago. Nothing any of her six kids said to her mattered. The 26-year-old Nigerian scammer raked her clean for nearly two years before we all convinced her that he wasn't the 65-year-old self-proclaimed millionaire oil driller who claimed that he was at the time living off of the coast near Texas in bone-chilling waters. He pulled her in, hook, line, and sinker with his promises that he would pay her back after he was once again back on land and able to access his bank account. The guy continued to tell her that he loved her and that they would one day be together. She lives on a $968 monthly widow's pension. She borrowed from all of us for two years because she could not pay her bills due to this animal. At his request, the scam continued with her sending him itune cards from her local western union that was located in her pharmacy.
