Hola
When I worhispanics worked at the downtown clinic, we took care of the Hispanics who came to work on Scott's farm in Unicoi. We had interpreters thank goodness. Once a mpnth we held weekend clinic at the farm. I learned: "May I get your weight please?"

Good morning
No Spanish here, but it is my favorite cuisine. John is Italian and Irish and I am English and Irish. I wish that I had taken Spanish in high school instead of German, but before ancestry.com offered their DNA profiling, my mother thought that we were German, so that it why I chose it. The Spanish language has a few similarities to Italian, and it is good for many job opportunities to speak two languages.

I myself took French during my school years. I am in the process of learning Spanish to be able to tap into the Latino market.

Re: Lucky for those of us who don't remember our other language lessons
Oh yes, LOL. One thing I regret is that I have lived so long that all of my loved ones who were fluent in the Czech language have passed on to their reward. I so loved listening to them laugh and talk and try to catch words I was familiar with. My two sisters still living know a few words and we love reminiscing.

You have a big heart and love to give. Yes, I am Hispanic. But like anything, if you don't practice it, you lose it.

Lucky for those of us who don't remember our other language lessons
that smiles don't need translators.

Good Morning
In High School, I took three years of French but the only part I remember is how to count from 1-10. I do not know how to speak Spanish. I know it's hard for families that speak another language to come to this country and have to learn a new language. I can just imagine how their children feel starting school. I hope the schools have programs for these children. I loved this post.
