That's a part of all the inflation I haven't thought of. Obviously, it's going to get tougher to pay for the care pets need.

I hope it will be as you want it to be when you return. It is not cheap to keep a pet,
but one has to do ones best for it as they do not live forever. I would think you are
the kindest cat owner in the world.

Graysome is a lucky little fur baby. Of course, animals should be treated as if they are a child. It's a shame that some people mistreat them, dump them off, and do not understand the hurt that they cause the animal by treating them like a piece of garbage. You're a wonderful pet mama.

I decided when I moved into this place not to have a pet.
The idea of tripping over a dog or cat and ending up with a broken hip seemed like a risky deal. Everything to do with fur babies is so expensive these days - food, veterinary services, etc. I enjoy my son's elder doggie, who visits me from time to time when he's on a business trip, but she's very slow and predictable.

Unfortunately the rescue places are so full now that many pets who are surrendered end up being euthanized, the healthy, the young or old, just because there is no adequate space or money to care for them. What is the answer?

I'm very glad I'm not taking a trip anywhere. I could use some fixing up here but I hate the process of people in and doing whatever. Have a good trip.

Kabu, it sounds like you had a good day getting ready for your trip. I'm glad you are going to be away when the contractor comes to do the work. I'm glad you are taking some of Mr. Graysome's favorite toys. They will make him happy.
