Good morning
I love his reference to the show MASH. It was popular around the same time that he was experiencing that same beauty. How sad that during that time those 29 people lost their lives due to a helicopter crash. That would definitely put a sad spin on an otherwise enjoyable time.

Chlorea is very scary. While I was reading this post it felt like the Russians were everywhere. I'm so sorry about the crew that died. That was so sad for everyone. I'm absolutely certain that your son was a strong man. There was a lot going on all around him.

I love the letters, the writing, Mark's ability to paint a word picture.

Oh no, cholera, Russians and finally relaxation! How nice for him to see the beauty of the mountains and get some R & R but then the accident! Once again, a fantastic post and it seems, thanks to you, like we are now enlisted "civies" right there with him. Thank you.
