Re:

Taps, I've been in Phoenix when it was between 117 and 118 degrees outside.  The funny thing is in the evening it gets much cooler.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Re:

Kabu, slowly my leg is getting better.  My doctor said it could take a while.  It is so much better than last week when I pulled the muscle.  I've been taking it easy and taking the medicine the doctor gave me.  I guess it's just one step at a time.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Re: Good afternoon

Sherri, I think just like you.  I've always wondered why the homeless cannot live in abandoned buildings that have been restored.  It makes perfect sense to me.  I'm excited to try the foil packets when I cook.  It sounds so easy.  I hope you have a good day.

Re: There are days we have to just thank our lucky stars we have a roof

Pat, I think about how fortunate we all are to have our homes and families.  I hope Monkeypox does not mutate and cause us all trouble.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  Stay safe!

Re:

FSI, the heat can be so dangerous.  I remember when I was in Vegas they would have alerts in the morning because of the heat.  It was the first time I ever thought about heat and cold in the same way.

I hope you start to feel better. It's great that Roy helps you out. I was reading up on monkeypox and you can theoretically get it in a pool or spa (hot tub). Great!

I was in Phoenix one summer when it was 117 degrees actual temperature.  I couldn't wait to be on my way elsewhere.  And, it does get hotter than that.

have you been to see your Doctor or gone to the hospital to have the leg looked at. This seems to be taking a long time to get better. [Just old me warrying about her friend. ]

Good afternoon

Those foil packet/hobo dinners are awesome. I have made them before on the grill. A few weeks ago, I watched Molly Yeh make a sausage and potato package similar to the one that you described, although hers didn't have potatoes. Talk about easy cleanup! The homeless have to deal with the extreme heat and the later the extreme cold. I have always felt that the government could somehow house them in the thousands of abandoned homes that are scattered around the world. Of course, they would have to get on their feet and work or get the SSI that they need to survive on their own, but there are so many programs that could partner up with the government to stop this from being so bad.

There are days we have to just thank our lucky stars we have a roof

over our heads, air conditioning, and so many other things we take for granted. Monkey pox, according to reports I've seen, is spread mostly by intimate, face-to-face contact - by kissing, etc. and is mostly being seen among men who hook up with men. No doubt it will mutate and become dangerous to one and all, but for now if we're not on the dating scene, we may not be at serious risk.

I never thought about the homeless in the heat. Living in Maryland, I think about it more with cold. It does make sense the problems heat would pose to them.
