Lovely poetry, Shamaji. Sleep, indeed, is a form of mini death

There was an English teacher at my school who said he tried to get as little sleep as possible because sleep was just a preview of death.

How true. We allow ourselves to stop so we can return and we are better for it. Lovely poetry.

That reminds me of William Shakespeare's "...sleep that knits the raveled sleeve of care..."   Very good.

Good Afternoon

Wow!  I love this post.  It's very thought-provoking to me. I could fall asleep anywhere but staying asleep is a different story.

Re: Good morning Sherri_G

This morning read an article " Dealing with Coronasomnia?"...it said Covid changed sleep pattern of 52% Kolkata residents... actually the pandemic & lockdowns, work from home have impacted our sleep in a huge way and some are still struggling to get the required hours of sound sleep.

The reasons you have mentioned are valid too...

This reminded me of this poem i wrote long back 😴

Yes very appropriate for the weather we are experiencing . I could go to sleep very often and as you say it all sinks away into oblivion.I like a good repost, thank you.

Good morning

I love this.  Sleep is so underrated. Our bodies desperately need proper rest to recuperate, but most of us barely get 4-6 hours a night due to illness, restlessness, and anxiety issues. Calming the brain at bedtime is everything. Thank goodness for white noise.
