Pat, I like organized fireworks but not the ones people do in their backyard. I don't think they are safe. Sometimes we hear gunshots around midnight. They are scary! I don't like them.

This holiday is a real mixed bag for me. I love the parades and
picnics, the family gatherings, but hate the explosives, especially the ones people set off on their own. Around here some people fire weapons to celebrate, which is stupidly dangerous, a bullet can travel up to a mile. Someone once threw a cherry bomb just behind me once. I was 17, walking toward our house in Seattle, and I've had some PTSD with sudden loud noises ever since. Enjoy your family & freedom this weekend.

Good morning
This is such a fun time of year. You live in such a beautiful area. I love the sight of ships. They are so mystical to me. It could also be that I am missing home. The ocean and the bay were always full of vessels. I am sure that Roy is looking forward to some time off. John also has a mini-vacation this weekend that we are looking forward to. Lots of festivities on our itinerary. Tonight is live disco and 80s music down in the boro. Tomorrow night we will be at the Vinoski Winery listening to an AC/DC tribute band. Saturday is fireworks and a bonfire with the kids, and Monday is the big fireworks display in Monongahela. Have a wonderful vacation with your honey.
