Re:

Kabu, I hope you have a wonderful day.  I'm going back to the garden center this week and getting another lavender plant.  I hope the prices are marked down.

Re:

C_C_T, I love lettuce.  After I pick mine I give the leaves a salt bath and then an apple cider vinegar bath and then I rinse it very well and let it dry.  Salad is good any time of the day.  I hope you have a good day.

everything really is expensive to buy now. I am so glad I really need hardly anything of a personal nature for myself. I have everything I need for the rest of my life I believe.

It sure adds up when one puts an order through. I have been cutting my half grown lettuce I cannot resist them with salad cream.

Re:

Ciel, I don't make beef stew often so I think the family will like it.  This is the first time I'm going to make rice to go with my stew.  I got the idea from my neighbor because they put rice in everything.  I hope you have a good day!

Re:

FSI, we have a bakery in town that always closes up shop for two weeks and takes off on a holiday.  I hope you have a good day!

Re: Good morning

Sassy, thanks for telling me about the salt.  I do have a metal spatula so that should work.  My beef stew is in the oven but I didn't start my rice yet.  I have several different size iron skillets.  I wonder if I could put my iron skillet on the grill and cook my smash burgers?

Pat, I love cooking with my crockpot!  This rice-lentil-chicken casserole sounds good.  I love anything with chicken and rice in it.  I love when I can freeze food and use it later.  It makes for easy clean-up.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

The sub shop across the street plans its holidays around Fourth of July. They go down to Florida.

I love rice, but what makes it so good for sensitive stomachs also makes it bad for diabetics. I still eat it sometimes, but in small quantities. Your stew sounds delicious!

Good morning

I love stew on rice. I used to make that when the girls were young. I would make stew and then later in the week I would serve the leftover stew over white rice. It's a hearty meal. As for the smash burgers, they are best made in an iron skillet with a mixture of oil that handles high heat and a Tablespoon of butter for flavor. It makes for an ultimate outer sear. All you need is a metal spatula to smash them down. Just make sure to salt the burgers well before putting them in the skillet. It helps with that outer crust.

Enjoy your Monday. My crockpot's coming out in a few minutes and

I'm starting a batch of my rice-lentil-chicken casserole mashup. This time I'll be adding a can of canellini beans to the mix. It makes a balanced protein-fiber dish that can be the whole meal or there can be cole slaw or sliced tomatoes on the side. And since it's only me at the table most of the time, I freeze much of it for later in the week. Easy meal prep then, too. Have a great day.
