Kabu, this marriage ended 62 years ago. It taught me how to read the warning signs and stay away from brutes and users.

I can feel your Pain
I spent 20 yers being abused by my second attempt at marriage and it took our Wiley to really give me back my confidence. The USA is in a very precarious position right now and that family and others so like it is one reason I don't belong in a Church. I had one Pastor say to me once how blessed i was to be born a woman. I had no responsibilities. All I had to do was be at home and take care of my husbands needs and my children!!

Pat, I'm so sorry you had to go through this with a man that truly did not appreciate you. I have never been abused thankfully but I know that a lot of women have suffered at the hands of a man. There are so many different ways this could have ended and I'm glad that you made the decision to leave.

One thing a young girl should be warned about is if the boy friend ever acts
aggressively or even roughly towards her, it might save a lot of pain.

Good morning
So many women can relate to your story, myself included. Those bullies hung in there until women changed the way that the institution of marriage was handled. There are still plenty of these moron men hanging around, but women now have more choices and do not have to stay in such conditions. Thank you for sharing your story. It's a hard thing to process. I have a feeling that the overturn of Roe V Wade is going to be the playing field that many women have searched for.
