Re: Re: Taps

perhaps more than one.  One early morning Son P.D. and I sat in his yard and watched a really big one in a big tree for a while.  And they Son lives more than a mile from here.  But I guess a mile isn't much distance for a big owl to fly.  Perhaps it was that one that ate the squirrel in my yard.

Re: Taps

Yes a bit frightening, I expect a lot of myths have materalized through owls.

The white barn owl flying at night probably  gave nervous people the ghostly ideas.

It does sound as though you have a tough predator lurking nearbye , it must have

been a big one to capture a squirrel.

Great.  So much in it.  What grabbed me was "the shriek of the owl".  We have an owl that lives somewhere very close in this area.  When it is cool enough to sleep with the window open, I hear this owl often and sometimes the horrifying cry of whatever it was he/she had caught.  Once it was a squirrel for in the morning when the sun came up the tail and feet of the poor thing was lying in the grass in our yard.

Good afternoon

Trees certainly do have a life all their own. Your poem runs deep with that very description.

Good Afternoon

Wow!  This is intense!  I hope you are staying cool.  It's very hot today.  I hope you have a good day.  I hope you've been drinking your tea.
