Re:
C_C_T, everyone's house is insulated. It would be much too cold in the winter without it. We don't have central air but thankfully we do have window units. We heat with hot water and it would be expensive to change it over.

Yes, much too hot for comfort. So early in the year. Are your houses insulated, most of ours are only with glass wool in the roofs and foam in the cavity brick walls. Once we had a single brick bungalow very undesirable with Global warming.

Re: Re: Good afternoon
We are celebrating Father's Day tomorrow as far as our get-together with the kids. We will be grilling at our house. The kids all work on Sunday. John is off on Sunday, so I will take him out to eat, just the two of us. He will probably choose Old Mexico. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant. The portions are huge. I always get the enchiladas and John gets the steak tacos.

Re: Reading your post and thinking about things like chef salad that
Pat, I also love soup and I could eat it daily. I think it would be easy enough to eat and if you make your own you could control the salt that goes into the pan. It's so hard to get decent produce here. Before the pandemic, I used to love to be in the produce section. It's a lot more work now and you have to check all your produce before you put it in the cart. I had to take a lot of the outer part off my iceberg lettuce. It was not good. My cucumbers look kind of thin and my tomatoes had a few bad spots. It's a sign of the times. I'll be glad when we get our vegetables from the garden.

Good afternoon
Salad is always a great meal choice, especially on a hot day. You really load yours up too. I love lots of veggies, meat, cheese, eggs, and croutons in mine as well. John is having our leftover sloppy Joe's today. I am cleaning the fridge out so that I have room to store my Father's Day BBQ food for tomorrow. It's not as hot today as it was yesterday, but we have some yard work to do in order to prepare for the party, so I am turning on the AC so that we can cool down when needed. Stay cool and enjoy your yummy salad.

Reading your post and thinking about things like chef salad that
I seldom attempt to eat these days. The dentures make biting into a sandwich a bit more complicated, an ear of corn is out of the question. Since I cook for only one I've been buying cole slaw and other side dishes at the store's deli counter rather than buying fresh produce that will be past its use-by date before I can get to it.
