I cook my strawberries when I buy them from the Supermarkets. i cut them into small pieces and cover them with water. i add sugar to taste and boil them on top of the stove. They take about 3 minutes to soften. I then put them in the fridge when they are cool and have them with icecream and or cream ot ontop of a pancake. very yummy and i don't have to worry about them bring diseased because a 3 minute boil will destroy that.

Pat, I heard about the recall too. We went down to the farmer down the street today but they didn't have any baskets made up so we didn't get any. Thank you.

I love the idea of eating strawberries. They had their season peak a couple weeks ago. So it'll be next year for us local Marylanders.

Good morning
It rained here this morning, but it has stopped. The day promises to be sunny with mild mid-seventies temps.I am going to search for strawberries and blueberries next week. I need them to make my Jell-o poke cake for our father's Day BBQ. I decorate the top with whipped cream and then add the strawberries and blueberries to resemble the American flag.
