Re: This is not a comforting read - but serves its purpose to remind me

Sometimes Pat it does seem far from the days when a harsh cane was always in a prominent position. Once we even had a teacher who fired a small cannon from his desk to mark the one who was destined to be punished.

Re: Kabu

I'm afraid the teachers we had were if young men seemed to have a chip on their shoulders, and the young women were young women.

Re: Good Evening

Yes, we must never lose heart. The young do have advantages these days if they use them wisely.

Re: anib

Yes, that was a good uplift. Education is so important today. I was the firstborn and I was needed to help my Father, my youngest brother did go to the Oxford University and is a Doctor of physiology.

As for me, I didn't go to the university for English literature. But I teach. I, however, did my major in Economics, and then later, privately, in Eng in 1992 and topped the Univ.

Good Evening

I believe life has a way of weighing us down but our human spirit picks us up through all the trials of life.  Teachers are so important because they are our stepping stone into life as we know it.

I went through all my schooling and then University and Never did I have even one teacher I could admire or learn much from. Fortunately I loved to read and study, and travel and have taught myself much throughout my life.

it's not so bad right now and we can take it in stride. Sometimes I think the folks who run schools take their training from the Marquis de Sade.
