Great to have neighbors who make things pleasant for our eye, and sad to see a place you once loved looking run down. Nice surprise with the hydrangia!

I suppose everyone has a different idea as to how they want to make a place look.
Of course, you had no chance. It was good though to let the kids play in safety.
I can visualize you sitting on that step, it was undoubtedly a strenuous task
to keep it all going.

Re: Goldiec
Fang is a pet name. My former husband's given name was Roy. Fang comes from a comedy routine by Phyllis Diller, who was very popular in the '60s - a stand-up comedienne whose routine featured her life as a "household goddess." In her routine she called her husband Fang, and joked that he was the kind of man who never came into the kitchen (it seems he was afraid of rats).

Good afternoon
What a shame that the flowers are all gone now. I love Hydrangeas. They offer such brilliant hues and Lilacs are the perfect scent when the wind gently blows their perfumed fragrance around. The love, blood, sweat, and tears that you put into the property are just a memory now. At least it's a fond one.

Good Morning
Pat, your new neighbors sound awesome! I'm glad they moved in and are taking such good care of the yard. This post reminds me of the house we bought when the kids were very little. There was a magnolia tree in the back yard and the kids used to love climbing it. It had beautiful blossoms on it and I loved that tree from the moment I saw it. When we moved to this house I went directly to the garden center and bought a magnolia tree with pink blossoms. Then the tornado of 1999 hit and it bent my magnolia over toward the ground. It did finally straighten up and it's doing good now but there were a few years when it was a little iffy. I did lose one branch of my magnolia but it now stands straight right behind the patio. I just have one question? Why do you call your ex Fang? I'm almost afraid to ask.
