Re:

FSI, you are absolutely right.  At least I can catch up on chores inside.  I hope you have a good day.

The rainy weather makes for a great day to do chores and general odds and ends around the house.

Re: They can. Don't fill them to the top - leave a one inch space approximately

adnohr, thank you for giving me the information.  I have to get some mason jars with lids.  I have the jars but no lids.

They can. Don't fill them to the top - leave a one inch space approximately

because the contents expand as they freeze. They are the perfect thing, and no worries about chemicals leaching into your food. I don't use plastics in the microwave either.

Re:

adnohr, I've never used mason jars for the freezer.  I was afraid they would crack or break.  Can they handle freezing?

Do you freeze yours in the large mason jars? I find those jars are great to freeze large batches of sauce or soup. I prefer them over plastic, even ones deemed freezer safe.

Re:

C_C_T, if we buy something that doesn't smell good we toss it too.

Re: Freezing up a batch of your own tomato sauce is a good idea.

Pat, I think the seasoning really does add to the sauce.  It gives it such a good flavor.

Sassy, your dinner sounds very good!

We bought three packets of Beef and spaghetti.  My brother said does this smell

funny to you. I could not tell if it was different but we decided not to eat it. So I put

all three packets in our food bin. I expect yours smell like the real thing.

Freezing up a batch of your own tomato sauce is a good idea.

There was a time when my garden had a bumper crop of tomatoes and I had to make a giant batch of tomato sauce to avoid wasting them. The personal seasoning touch adds a lot to a batch of ravioli or spaghetti, doesn't it.

Re: Re:

Lol, John says the same thing. Our men have really good smelling senses. Like you, I have dinner prepared when John gets home from work. Any leftovers go in his lunch the next day. Tonight we are having Arrabbiata sauce over homemade ravioli with a side of cheesy garlic toast and a small Italian salad.

Re:

Sassy, it's really getting cloudy so I'm sure the rain will be coming soon.  I always love when I make dinners like this because after everything is in the crockpot most of the work is done.  I will just make the spaghetti noodles and dinner will be complete.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, I know you would love it!  Roy always eats when he gets home from work at 3 o'clock.  He says when I'm making my sauce he can smell it when he gets out of the car.

The rain is off and on here too. The sun and the rain appear to be taking turns, but the temperature is at a reasonable setting, so I can deal with the finicky shenanigans that Mother Nature hands out to us mere mortals. As for your sketti sauce, since you made enough to feed an Army, freezing it will provide you with many yummy meals in the next few months.

Good afternoon

I can smell your spaghetti sauce clear from Pittsburgh, so what time is dinner?

Re:

Taps, you really should make some sauce.  It's nice because you can freeze what you don't use.  If you were here I would share my sauce with you.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

I can almost smell it from here.  You wouldn't believe how long it has been since I made a crockpot full of sphagetti sauce.
