Re:

FSI, I'm so glad you missed the bad weather.  I do think you went at a good time because I've been in Texas and it was so hot when we went.

Re:

adnohr, do you have a big pantry?  I try to come up with different meals for every day but sometimes I just want to make something easy.  I know it's harder when your grocery store is not close to your home.  Shopping lists are really important then.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, are you going to color the eggs that John hides for the kids? I can see the kids looking for the golden eggs.

The weather in Dallas was great, ranging from 70 to 85 with no rain. I left at the right time. I saw on the news all the tornado watches down there.

Pat_B's ice cubed coffee sounds like a good idea and one I will try too. You have my sympathy for the meal planning. I only have to put any effort into it now when the kids are comng around, which is often enough but not every day as you do. I can remember setting up the shopping lists so that I could serve something different for each meal when the kids were all at home. We never lived close to grocery stores, so the fore-planning was necessary!

Re: Good afternoon

That lime pie sounds really refreshing.

Good afternoon

John and I both love fried potatoes with peppers and onions. We often have breakfast for dinner with this being the main entree. I serve mine with scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and toast. It is warmer here today too. That is wonderful that your daughter-in-law will be making the pies. We plan to take the "bunny baskets" over to the grandkids the day before Easter because John works on Sundays. He plans to hide eggs for John & Chloe. He always puts money in the "golden" eggs. There is no dinner planned, but I will make him a fully loaded ham sub for his Easter lunch.

Re:

shamasehar, I do believe you are right.  Sometimes I know what I want to cook but then there are times when I have no clue what to make.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  Thank you so much for your comment.

Re: A little shortcut for iced coffee. You've got leftover coffee in the pot

Pat, this sounds like an awesome idea.  I'm going to try it.

A little shortcut for iced coffee. You've got leftover coffee in the pot

that has become cold. Simply pour it into an ice cube tray and freeze it, then keep the coffee ice cubes in a ziplock bag. When you make your iced coffee, use these cubes so that when they melt your flavor won't be diluted by the ice.  Also, you can pour cold milk over a glass full of coffee ice cubes, add a dash of sugar and enjoy.
