They are so hard to find. Most are imported from China. Save me a bowl please!

Good morning

My mother includes oysters in her Christmas dinner, but she adds them to the stuffing. She would absolutely flip over your dad's recipe. She grew up on seafood, as did I, and being married to an Italian I try to incorporate seafood into our holiday feast. Crab is my favorite, but I would love to try some of your dad's oyster stew. Merry Christmas!

TAPS

How interesting it is to learn about the musical abilities in your family and the history of the good eating, including the oysters. Yes, do enjoy some oyster stew in Ribcage's honor. He'll be watching and sending smiles to you. A Happy Birthday to him.

Good Evening

My aunt used to fry oysters to go in our Christmas eve stuffing.  They were so good.  My uncle would go to the fish market and get them in the late afternoon and bring them home and my aunt would fry them right away.

I love Sydney Rock oysters. Raw mornayed grilled with bacon and Worcestershire sauce fried any way you want to give them to me. Dad was right, only eat fresh oysters during the months with an R in them, in the Northern Hemisphere. Sydney Rock oysters are available all year round. (I too miss Rib cage )

Seems to me enjoying oyster stew for your son in heaven would meet

with his approval. I'm not a fan of oysters, but I remember my mother had a way with them, and we enjoyed the stew on special occasions.

I wish he was there. We have some smoked oysters in jars in the cupboard. We did have some winkles, now I used to love those with salt and vinegar at the fairs on a little crock dish. Sadly we have all become too squeamish and it would not be allowed now.
