I remember listening to a guest being interviewed on the radio. He stated that this story was bad for children. It teaches them to point out differences and attack those who are different. It's only when they do something heroic that they are accepted. I never thought of the story that way, but who knows?

I wonder how much May and his estate got from the royalties of that. That is a big Christmas story.
