I totally agree. Civilized??? well people around here seem to be civilized iin the fact that it appears to be a lovely quiet area but what is boiling beneath the surface who knows.

Nice discussion of the issue. It seems to me we've become less
civilized over the past two years, more prone to quick and hostile reactions to things that used to roll off our backs like water off a duck's. It's gotten so scary in traffic lately I've had to give up waving the middle finger at rude or careless doofus drivers. It seems to tick them off.
