What shocks life had instore for a cat who only ever ate cream. I truly was 41 when I started my nursing course, I had to work my Butt off to keep up with the youngsters around me and reading this, I am glad I knew poor before I started.

Good afternoon
Live and learn. This was a great story. I grew up poor for a part of my life and then my mother married into money. She was also a manager of the women's department at Sears & Roebuck through my teen years. I wore the nicest clothes that money could buy during high school. This was a total change from the homemade clothes that I wore to grade school. Once I was out and on my own I learned to appreciate the bargain racks. Not all of my friends agreed with this shopping practice. I could have cared less, especially when it came down to who was broke before payday and who was not. I always managed to have a few leftover dollars due to being practical. I will never fall into the "rich bitch" way of life no matter how much money I have. Common sense trumps any notion of spending freely. Y

rI think most older folks look out for bargains. Of course if one has never experienced the need to be careful, money is just something one hands over and it is quite simple.
I remember my young brother bought a pair of secondhand wellingtons. I looked in horror at them. We decided to fumigate them in an old chicken house.

Good Morning
I think life has a way of teaching us lessons and I'd say this lady learned the hard way.
