Go to Life in the fast lane--where's the on ramp?Add a commentGo to WRITE YOUR OWN STORY - (or not)

Pat, sadly I think a lot of bad experiences float around inside we do not think of them, but the pain is prominent in our minds at times, this usually manifests itself in different ways. Sometimes I do silly things to avoid hurting others. I know several reasons for this being so and it is as simple sometimes as being mean to someone in childhood. Take care.

Good Morning

Pat, the first thing I would like to say is that I'm thankful you do not have to live through the bad things again.  Fortunately for you, they are over and in the past.  In Cleveland, we had three girls that were kidnapped and held for 10 years.  When they were interviewed they spoke of horrendous things that had happened to them.  At different times they were put into cages, beat, and starved.  I'm not sure how those girls lived through what they did. I will say it's almost more than what I can take to hear their stories.  My heart goes out to them.  I think life takes us on many journeys.  Some are very good and others seem like hell.  I'm not sure why this is but I put those bad things in the category of evil.  I'm wondering if what you know now would influence how you lived your life.  I really think the one thing I would change would be going to college.  I really wish I had but it wasn't feasible for me back then.  I love fun things and sometimes it's best for all of us.

And yet... Sometimes we need to hear dark stories of real life to help reconcile with our own shadows. Sometimes we need to see they can come into the light, and the teller of the story does not get struck by lightning. Sometimes we need to know that our own tribulations were not unique, were not our fault, are not unforgiveable...
