Turmeric is a Godsend.  It's very good for us.  My vegetables turned out really good tonight.

Re: Re: Thank you, it is. I found it on a health site.

The turmeric mixed with the cauliflower is supposed to expel cancerous cells. The olive oil, garlic powder, and pepper flakes are just flavor enhancers.

Re:

C_C_T, I've decided losing some weight is the way to go.  It just makes sense to me.  If I can lose 20 pounds I will be so happy and hopefully, my knee will feel better.

Re:

Kabu, I sure hope so because I think it will help my knee.  I can take my Ibuprofen but I think this plan will help.  I've made up my mind that the ice cream is going so I'll be okay with that.  Roy is still eating it though but I'm fine with that.

Re:

Sassy, good luck at the Dentist.  I hope all goes well.  I think it's good to get blood work done so you know where you stand in terms of your health.  I've had all my shots and I'm so glad you are getting your second shingles shot.  My doctor said we definitely don't want to get shingles.

Re: Losing weight may help, and so might it help to cut out inflammatory

Pat, thank you so much.  I've cut out so many things over the last few years and I believe that's why my blood work is so good.  I learned long ago to drink my coffee with nondairy creamer and nothing else.  I now prefer it that way.  I have no problems with sugar diabetes thank goodness but I'm still a work in progress.

Glad to read that you are getting better be it slowly.. Sadly these things do crop up.I suppose, it bis wear a tear. I used to carry heavy weights once. I suppose one has to adapt and as you suggest keep the weight down .

So glad the Blood work is fine. gentle exercise and more salad without oodles of dressing and cut down the ice cream and you will lose that weight.

I favor Ibuprofen over Tylenol for pain in most cases. I am happy to hear that your blood work turned out great. I go in for my Lipid panel this week, as well as the dentist, and my second shingles shot. (((Sigh)))

Good afternoon

I love cauliflower and it is even better when you rice it, the texture emulates potatoes or rice, depending on if you fluff or smoosh it. I roast cauliflower with olive oil, turmeric, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. It is supposed to be really healthy when prepared this way. I also add it to my hamburger vegetable soup.

Losing weight may help, and so might it help to cut out inflammatory

stuff in your diet - like sugar. I get stiff achy joints any time I eat more than a small cookie. Of course my A1C level may be higher than yours, and it may be some other inflammatory diet item that's spiking a bit.  Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,

Ciel, thank you for saying that.  I think if my mind is set I'll be okay.

Re: Re: Goldiec,

Making a firm commitment and decision to do it is half the battle. Then temptation can't get its hooks in!

Re:

Ciel, if I can lose 20 pounds I will be so happy.  My problem is I like food but I'm going to try to eat healthier along the way.  I think if I set my mind to this it will maybe work.  I can't say for sure but I'm going to try.

Sounds like you are making a fine start to the week!

I am trying balance my weight-loss program with the diabetes, doing best with both when I greatly limit the carbs. Skipping meals and limiting calories gives the body the message that food is scarce, so it hangs on harder to what we give it, so it's kind of counter-intuitive for weight loss. Good luck with finding what works best for you!
