It was to contain odor as well as a sewage overflow absorbent, and it aided in preventing the spread of disease. If memory serves me right, the chemical I used was Subdue.

Good morning
Fascinating. I used to pump chemicals into the Trinity Rest Area porta Johns when I was a sub-contractor in Nevada. It was a disgusting job, but the pay superseded the negative aspects of it all.
