All the history I have read and watched over my life time since I was born in April 1945...I have never read this bit of very amazing history and of how much it must have done to turn the tide of the war in the East. Wow but I admire those girls.I have read plenty about brave women in the resistance but nothing about Russian women.

I never heard the night witches story before, and I remember
the war years, when all my older brothers, cousins, uncles, my father, and practicall all able-bodied men in America were "over there." Women have always done the impossible, as this story shows. As for GBS, he had the right idea. Sometimes the thundering herd and idle chit-chat can completely smother the creative instinct.
