Well some used to refuse the flue jab here, although thousands died with the flue each year. The new variants appear to be increasing. A woman near has to isolate as someone in the bank where she works has proved positive.

We all have our opnion about the vaccine. Some will and some won't. Either way it should be respected as their choice to make.

I intend to wear my mask every flu season when I am out and about from now on. With mask wearing both Australia and Canada had no flu outbreaks last Winter.

Even though I'm fully vaccinated, I still wear my mask in the grocery

store, where the mask is now optional. Since I've been wearing the mask I've had fewer colds, and almost no one is catching the flu whether they had the shot or not. So on the off chance that some unmasked folks are not vaccinated but just hate masks, I'm opting for a little extra ounce of prevention.  I do not, however, feel it's my place to insist that anyone else has to do so.

Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,

There are a lot of doctors who are not as well-educated as their title implies. It really is on us to do our own searching and checking to see what's what and who's who, and how an authority stacks up with his/her peers.

Re: Re: Goldiec,

Ciel, the part that really worried me was the fact that this was an actual doctor.  I just don't understand it.

Re: sassyass,

The really good news is that it is becoming clearer day by day that vaccinated people, even if they should get the very rare 'breakthrough' case of covid, they won't die from it, won't even be hospitalized, and best of all, fully vaccinated people, even in breakthrough cases, are not going to be passing it on to others.

I have several friends, however, who plan to continue masking up in crowds and indoor because they've really enjoyed not getting the flu this past year, either!

Re: Goldiec,

Oh dear... Of course it isn't true! But yes, some folks watch only Fox News, which is, like The National Enquirer, meant for entertainment, not for actual news. And in this world of the past several generations, we have learned more and more that authority is not to be blindly trusted, nor journalism--especially since Reagan undercut the Fairness Doctrine and opened the door to any sorts of scammy 'news' purveyors.

Good morning

I was afraid too, mostly of the unknown, but I did it. The steel mill where my hubby works are calling out maskless workers to show proof that they are vaccinated. I still wear my mask in public even though I had both shots due to so many people who are still unvaccinated and walking around without masks. The national numbers do not match the number of people walking around with a mask.

Good Morning

Ciel, there are still so many people that are afraid.  Yesterday a doctor reported that people who get the vaccine become magnetized.  It was on Fox8 news.  She said if you put a magnet to your body it will stick.  I have no idea if it's true.  During the same segment, other doctors said it was not true. This is why there is a problem getting people vaccinated.
