Good Morning

The best answer I can give to this is the fact that the world must have turned even a slight degree to make the decisions people are making seem right to them.  It's crazy!

excellent post. I watched the road runner cartoons every chance I could get, yes with my kids and grand kids. I don't think any of us are damaged or likely to jump off a Cliff and expect to survive it.

I think sometimes we get a little carried away with the urge to protect

children from reality. Better they know that not everyone has their best interest at heart. Kids are tougher than we sometimes give them credit for.

Bruno Bettelheim, a psychologist of the 20th Century, considered that fairy tales in all their dark and grim (or Grimm) origins, are important, even necessary ways for children to learn about the world. It's not because they demonstrate reality, but as metaphors for realities. Joseph Campbell said pretty much the same thing about our need for myths as we move through life.

In other words, cleaning them up and drenching them with sweetness does no service to the kids.

Disney's PETER PAN was one of my favorites when I was 5, but to read the book was a jaw-dropping revelation when I grew up.

There will always be someone trying to fault something. I guess we just have to let it pass by.

The world's gone crazy. When I read the headline, I figured people would be offended by the word white.

PC Police

They have ruined things for children. But in my day things were worrying. Tintin was a big worry!
