The best ones I've ever had was when our first grade class sat on the floor in a circle and passed a jar of country cream round and round with everyone taking turn shaking it until it became butter.  The buttermilk was poured off into little glasses and the ones who wanted to taste it did.  The we spread the butter on the crackers.  That was 77 years ago and I've never forgot it.  I still like buttered saltines.

You are so right. These would be put into my lunch box when I was a kid and then I did that when my boys went to school.

Some of the older snacks were great. They look like cream crackers, but they are a bit hard.

They have always been a favorite of mine. They go great with a bowl of soup.
