Oh my! There's going to be big trouble when she finds out he's giving her stuff away not to even mention what he's burning. I know a family like this and it's dangerous to live in a house like this. If a fire breaks out it will be bad and that is why he turned off the furnace. I think he's secretly glad she's gone. Hoarders have a tendency to get out of hand if someone tries to move their things. I could not live with a hoarder. I just don't have it in me.

I suppose a good row might clear the air or at least provide some kind of agreement.
I expect a lot of us become hoarders saving things that we think one may need in the nr.uture
. Or there is no immediate easy way to dispose of some things..

What's going on is that Addie was actually the hoarder. The old man's crap is that he wanted to clear out the clutter. And did, while she was pouting elsewhere.

There will be hell to pay once she sees the stacks of mess everywhere that she will have to deal with. Years of accumulation can become so cumbersome that it is just easier to give it away than to deal with it straight on. As for her running off, you have to wonder if they have hit a plateau of disconnecting as many couples do. Whatever it is, the uncle isn't willing to share with Sunny Sam or anyone else.
