Yes, no matter how big or little the project, it feels good to finish just one!

Re: Sassyass_64

I never would be that good at sewing, either. My mother was very talented, made me a prom dress one year and a tailored suit for graduation, but I'm lucky to be able to sew a straight seam or put together an apron.

I took a sewing class in school for one semester and my mother attempted to teach me. I just never got the hang of it or enjoyed it like she does. I much prefer to cook, photograph, and paint. Looking back on it, I wish that I would have learned. It is a great way to make extra income when you are good at it.

I've been tempted to get mine out lately, but it needs a trip to the repair shop for tuning up before trying anything creative! I have some lovely fabric to make new curtains for the one window in the kitchen.

My sewing machine is right out of sight. A little table in my kitchen has a hidden cupboard beneath it and in there is my machine. So hidden away I can forget it is there.

Re: Re: Good Morning

Pat, thank you for saying that.  I think you are right.  It's true if I need my sewing machine I know where to go and get it.

Once every house seemed to have a sewing machine. The women in villages sewed gloves one could see them sitting by the windows to catch all the light as the cottages did have thick walls and small windows.

Re: Good Morning

Your sewing machine is there if you need it. Not worth a guilt trip because you haven't needed it lately.

Good Morning

As soon as I saw your post I immediately started feeling guilty about my sewing machine.  Roy's sister had given me an older sewing machine years ago.  It works fine and I did use it a few times but for years it has sat on the floor of my closet.  Every now and then I think of it and think I should sew something but then the thought goes away till next time. Now that I read your post I'm thinking about it again.

I was just on Amazon the other day and I put some craft projects in my cart.  They are still in my cart.  I have lots of craft supplies and projects so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
