I would have to say this is true.

It's the ones that don't go away that are strongly suggesting one reconsider one's personal reality!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,

I would say reality doesn't go away but it depends on how we see it.  My reality may be totally different from someone else's reality.  I think that is why there are so many differences in the world.

Phillip K Dick on this subject, slightly paraphrased:  Reality is that which when you ignore it, doesn't go away.

Re: sassyass,

Agreed, it's more useful to focus on the positive, and there's more healing in it than in glooming on things that have happened and beyond our control.

Re: Goldiec,

Yes, there is personal reality comprised of all our beliefs about what's real and what's true about the world, the universe, and our relationship with it. All our personal realities are the end of what we have been taught, what we've observed, and experienced, as you say.

Then there is the Absolute Reality that exists despite what we personally believe. Part of the philosophical conversation is about whether there is, in fact, anything that is absolute.

I believe there are things that are so beyond our believing or disbelieving that they are, to us, as close to absolute as matters. But describing any realities comes up against our limited vocabularies, our limited imaginations. In the end, all we have are models of possible realities, possible Realities. We get easily distracted by shiny and scary packaging, and miss the content it contains.

This is the dawn of a new year. I am attempting to leave the negative rhetoric from last year behind. I believe that good things are coming very soon. Happy valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Ciel, I've been thinking about your post on Faith, Politics, and Reality.  I think everybody's reality is different.  We will never change a person's view on what they believe to be right.  They are the only ones that can change it.  I think rather it's good, bad, or indifferent they will say it is what is.  Life experiences play into this in one way or the other.  I hope my thinking on this makes some kind of sense.
