Re: CCT

A vintage- style wood fruit crate of California oranges are avsilable from Pier 1 online for$149.95, sold at $109.95. Other fruit, wholesale, are received in profuce bavkrooms of supermarkers in wooden crates sometimes. More commonly,  cheaper  thin wood composite crates, held together by wood sraples are used. Thank you for your usual antique input sir - especially use in the home of professionals in the English countryside sir.

Re: Re:

I love this idea, BC-A. Crates can be used for towels, blankets, magazines, shelves, and just about anything that the mind can dream up.

Wood crates are great for transporting fruit. Afterward, the crate can be repurposed for other things.

Re: Sea Gypsy

I have a converted peach crate for a third bookcase. Hasn't California sold oranges in wooden crates? Florida has. A couple uncles sent my parents oranges in crates from Florida. They've been used as Christmas gifts and souvenirs from visits to Florida, sent to relatives like us. Also, they're still used in supermarket produce shipments. I'm surprised it surprised you. Sunkist?
