I've been thinking about these pods - I like the idea they have solar

panels, but upon longer consideration the one in the picture is roughly the size of a casket - I'd like the pods to be about twice the size of this one, large enough for a person's duffel and other possessions to be inside and out of the elements. Some homeless folks have a dog, so if they could keep their pet inside it would be better.

It is a great idea.

Nobody should ever have to experience freezing with no chance of warming up through a bitter night of cold.

Of course in the old days here we had doss houses as they were called . A large room with a fire and chairs with a rope in front. One leaned over the rope and slept. Better than nothing I suppose but .....

I think this is a very good idea but I wonder how they keep them warm inside?

That's an idea. Here they have little pods like closets with beds in secured parking lots and they have services available and they pods  can be sanitized as people leave to re-enter society. It's a great idea but so many homeless in this area want to remain off the grid for vaious reasons. Some are addicts or they are mentally unwell and don't want to conform to a society structured with rules and meds, in their opinion.

Brilliant idea! Especially if it could be locked from the inside.

Better than the pavement but it does look like a large doggie house!
