Pat, I think you are right and we all have to be safety-minded at this point. I wish our world could go back to normal. It wasn't perfect but it was the world we were used to.

Ciel, no sooner did I write this than they reported there was a lockdown in Washington today. Evidently, there was a fire at a homeless shelter and they were taking precautions. When I read it I panicked for a minute. All I could think was that it was happening again. Everything is okay but it's so scary to hear of these things. Thank you so much for your comment. My roast is cooking and smells so good.

We are headed out to the Cracker Barrel for dinner. The girls gave us a gift card back in October for our birthday that we have yet to use. The snow didn't present any issues, so off we go!

Guess I was not recognizing how serious the problem was - I assumed that once the votes were counted and the matter was settled, things would get back to normal. We need to be more safety-minded than ever, it seems.

Yes, other people feel like that, too. It's so easy to fall into a sense of powerlessness while others beyond our reach make the moves, take the actions... And in the end, we just have to wait and see what happens, while we do what we can in our own nests to take care of our personal needs and comforts. While the Mighty and Flighty make their moves, it is we, the folk who are living our lives out of their notice, who live closest to life.
Your roast sounds wonderful! I am enjoying it just thinking about it!
