Sea Gypsy, this is an awesome post! I simply must remember the lessons I learned reading this post today. The one thing I know for sure is that an insurance company is in business to make money. If we understand that we will understand why they do the things that they do. I feel so sorry for all the people in your area. It has been a tough year with all the fires not to even mention everything else. I'm sending many blessings your way!

Hearing what others are going through does put things into perspective. I can't imagine losing my house and having no homeowner's insurance.

Insurance can be a game. Once had a salesman tell me it was a bet
between the insured and the company - you're betting something will happen and there'll be a payoff, they're betting it won't and they'll just take your money.
