Agreed on the 20%. Once upon a time I was a server. Much appreciated.
Back in the early 80s, I was a waitress at a Nevada Naval base. The tips were the big difference whether I made it from payday to payday. Once in a while, I received a huge tip when serving a large dinner party. Of course, it is hard to give a 20% tip when the service is so lousy that you wish you hadn't ordered at all, but most do a great job.
